Heaven is where Christians will spend eternity. This might not be as clear in scripture as people think. Some scholars on the topic of heaven argue the opposite. For example, in his book, 40 Questions About Heaven and Hell , Alan Gomes believes that the Bible indicates we will spend eternity on the new earth that God will create.
He points to passages such as 2 Peter and Revelation Nor could it be that heaven provides an especially suitable habitat for resurrected human beings, for God designed a renovated, material earth precisely for that purpose…the New Jerusalem is a literal city that God will situate on the new earth.
Heaven will be boring. People who love God crave His companionship. To be in His presence will be the very opposite of boredom. Our eternal home is a real place John where we will reside in real, physical bodies 1 Corinthians 15 and where we will experience everlasting joys, rewards, and treasures Matthew ; Matthew ; Luke God dwells there Revelation and the light of Jesus will permeate every corner of this place Revelation The fact that our all-knowing, all-powerful Creator will dwell with us and we shall know him in an even more intimate way should be sufficient for the true Christian to rest assured that they will be satisfied there, but the Bible gives us many other glimpses of what this place will be like.
Eradication of evil. Picture your favorite place on earth. Since then, only a handful of these gems have been found. This rarely seen beauty makes them highly sought after and valuable. In heaven, the light of the great city of Jerusalem will be like a glorious stone, shining pure like crystal.
Its radiance will outshine any precious gem on earth and its value will be immeasurable. Covered in the glory of God, the holy Jerusalem will descend with brilliance.
Every treasure man holds valuable will pale in comparison to the magnificent city of heaven. Precious stones will lavishly adorn the walls of Jerusalem.
Giant oysters, so numerous they covered the ground like stones, were waiting in abundance for the weary travelers. To visualize the pearly gates of heaven, being formed out of ONE pearl, is unfathomable.
Streets of gold, so pure that they are transparent, will extend from the twelve gates. What a beautiful description! Revelation 21 goes on to say that in heaven there will be no more sun or moon.
The glory of God and the light of the Lamb will be its illumination. The Lamb is its light. And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. In a world that is riddled with sickness and disease, the description of the tree of life in Revelation 22 is a beautiful reminder that there will be no more suffering or pain in heaven. There will be no more searching for the cures of diseases known to man.
Every ailment will be remedied by the leaves of the tree, and the nations will be healed once and for all.
Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths.
Keep in mind that God is in controll and, although you are not seeing anything in return of your serving yet, know that you are always receiving Gods mercy and grace. Remember there will come a time in Heaven when all we will know is peace and happiness, but we should also try to find peace and happiness on earth, and that can only be found through serving the Lord and having a relationship with him.
Find peace and contentment in his Love. You seem to be on the right track, I pray you find peace and know that true contentment is found in the Lord. Remember your here for a purpose, your so special and precious to God and try not to let earthly mishaps ever make you forget that. Gods love, mercy, and grace is upon you even here on earth try to find contentment in that always, and continue to serve and worship the Lord.
I have gone through what you have. Sometimes words cannot help. I am sorry for your very great loss. I am an artist and blessed by my father at an early age. I did stray from the flock but now I have returned. My father has spoken to me and asked that I use my oil painting skills to paint pictures of the Bible. Upon reading your article this morning, I felt the need to paint a picture of Heaven. I am researching to get it as accurate as I can.

My brother committed suicide two days ago. He suffered terrible delusions and hallucinations before he took his life, but he was baptized a year ago and believed in the Lord with all of his heart. I know he is with our Lord now and is free from all that terrified him. I am also a Christian, but this is almost more than I can bear.
He was my only friend in this world and now I am alone. I know I will see him again, but I am only 36 and it will be so long before that happens. What can I do to make it through this? It hurts so badly.
Please pray for me. I am so very sorry Mr. That is the only comfort I can give you sir that you will see him again. I do know that God uses our pain so that we can comfort others.
In other words, God may use your pain to help others in pain. I agree with Colette, Stephen. I believe this too. No separation is possible for the child of God Rom I am a born again Christian. I have been hurt and betrayed. I turned to paganism I worshipped false idols bast, freya, thor, etc.
I have seen the error of these wretched things and am now a Christian once more. I love the Lord more now than I ever have. But there is still one thing that I am struggling with. I was betrayed by someone that was supposed to be a friend.
And I am struggling to forgive this particular individual. I want to forgive. And in the back of my mind I fear that because of this and my marital infidelity which I struggle to forgive myself for that I am not worthy of heaven or a relationship with Jesus or God. I am afraid that I am condemned to hell.

You must not do the Christian faith alone. We need one another. Seek counsel and the prayers of the other saints in the church. I just came home from a funeral today. I also went through the same recently when my father passed away in April Both, my father and my friends mother were serious Christians. I rejoice that they are both in the presence of our Lord Jesus! When I read Revelation chapter 4 and chapters 21,22; I am in awe to think how incredible it must be to be seeing what they are now seeing.
