Where is foulweald totem mound in wow

Killed the chief and just kept killing them one by one without running out and back in. They keep coming until the flag dissapears, when that happens.. I had 2 on me, killed one rooted the other, looted the basket, left. Comment by Allakhazam I had a small glitch when i planted the banner.

I somehow got stuck in the banner when I planted it, got in 1st person view, and could only turn to look around. Anyhow, I basically got my 27 mage to become a turret while the 29 Shammy helping me tanked and healed.

Did it in one try, wasn't hard in the least bit, at least I don't think it was. Comment by Allakhazam solo'd as 27 tauren druid, in bear form. Comment by Allakhazam Turned lvl 30 while clearing out the area then soloed with lvl 30 shamen. It's not real hard. Had to burn a healing pot and i used warstomp when the chief was attacking me with two of his buddies. Ran off up a hill and healed once, came back and it was just the chief with no little guys. Comment by Allakhazam Mound is at 56, Comment by Allakhazam soloed it at 29 as a warlock.

VW was key, using him to keep mobs off me as much as possible. Comment by Allakhazam The basket looks like a tiny chest and glows green. Kind of hard to miss in the middle of a giant pile of corpses. Comment by Allakhazam The third time of trying to solo it I almost did it, the end was in sight, I could see myself scraping through to completion He bashed the hell out of me and I just gave up on the quest in disgust, still wondering what the Boorguard Tunic looks like :D Unlucky!

So, just be careful that guy is elsewhere on his patrol Comment by Allakhazam Okay, this is only soloable by classes that can heal themselves. My 27 hunter couldn't do it, despite me dropping a trap to start with, an exploding sheep, various explosive devices, potions, you name it, I tried it.

I'm going to try again in a level or two, because I really want that tunic, and nobody in Ashenvale wants to help. Edited, Thu Apr 20 Comment by Allakhazam Solo'd at lvl 27 hunter. My pet drew most of the aggro, died once came back and the chief was still there. Owned him with range even though the banner was gone.

Comment by Allakhazam Just completed it tonight so it is working. I went through quite a few 15ish? Comment by Allakhazam Solo'd as 30 priest. When you first plant it 2 mobs come and then 1 or 2 mobs every seconds. I had a high DPS wand Take note that if the furbolgs kill the banner, you fail. Also take note that the Chief does NOT attadck the banner, so you can die if it's down to you and him. The chief comes after 10 or so Furbolgs. Also, I had too many furbolgs on me at one point and ran until I lost aggro, and they vanished instead of run back to the banner.

Might take advantage of that. Comment by Allakhazam If you solo, there will never be more than two at a time that attack you. You just need to make sure that you kill all the mobs around the mound first. I soloed Lvl 30 Druid. Comment by Allakhazam Did this as a lvl 32 Tauren Warrior.

I followed the same advice as most people here. Cleared the area around the mound first, meaning much of the close and distantly close Foulweads. Planted the totem, fought as much as I could making sure to attack any of them that were going after the totem. They like to sneak up on ya like that.

Didnt matter as long as they were fighting me and not the totem. After a while I used a greater healing potion to regain health and kept going. I used other elixers and potions like armor, trolls blood, ogres stregth, etc. I did die during the encounter but when I came back, all Foulweads were gone, and chief was atop the mound waiting for me.

My banner was gone though, but I was still able to kill him and get the totem. Almost pissed me off too, because I was having some serious lag issues, but got it done. Comment by Allakhazam coords are correct did it with level 32 hunter alone, totem was dropped near the body in a little box, you have to look very wel.

Comment by Allakhazam where can I find the mound exectelie? Comment by Allakhazam At level 26 I had very little trouble with this quest.

The way I completed it solo was: Arrive at the mound and pull 2 of the furbolgs standing around. After they're dead, go stand on top of the mound, this will pull about more. I redid my weapon buff and lightning shield and dropped Stoneskin and Healing Stream totems, then planted the flag. The furbolgs will generally arrive in twos and threes such that you will nearly always be fighting 2 or 3. Save mana by grouping your casts together.

This minimises the time you spend not regenning mana. By the time the King arrived I mistimed a heal and died, but I was able to return and single pull him with relative ease. The whole quest took me about 15 minutes.

Comment by Allakhazam This is one crazy quest, did it was a level 27 Mage with help from a 35 Warlock friend. First time we tried it was an outright failure due to one of the elite Alliance tree guys somehow aggroing us. I have no idea where he came from. Second try went a little better, no tree guy this time. Unfortunately near the end of the waves the furbolgs we had cleared began to respawn on us.

This added to an already chaotic situation. I died just as the boss popped and I thought "great, now I'll have to start over yet again.

A quick frost nova on a nearby furbolg and I had enough time to loot it and get the hell outta there. So it is possible to make it from the graveyard back to the mound without the basket dissapearing. Comment by Allakhazam Does anyone know if there is a level cap on this quest? I tried it a few minutes ago am, 29 Jan on my 51 rogue and after I killed Murgut, he was not carrying a totem nor did a chest appear.

The banner was still standing on the mound, so I'm not sure what I did worng or if the quest is bugged. Comment by Allakhazam I had a little bit of a hard time finding the mound, its surrounded by objects at 56,63 Solo'ed this with my 27 priest.

Trick is to clear out the mobs around the mound or else they will aggro. Comment by Allakhazam Okay the mound is relatively easy to find - it's a hillock between some totem poles south of the main road SW of Raynewood. It is advisable to have a group of folk to help defeat the forthcoming attack get 4 lvl 30s together and you should be okay and before you plant the flag, make sure you've killed off the riffraff around the mound.

Right-click the flag and left-click the mound and the flag will deploy. You then have to kill off all the boars that attack. They're not too tough at least for lvl 30s. Finally the chief comes along and he must be dispatched too. He will drop a basket and you'll find the totem in there. By the way, even if you try this quest alone and lose the flag as I did you can join a party and still get the totem from the chief's basket I was thinking I'd have to go back to the quest giver and start from scratch - not the case :.

Once I found it the mound is between two totem poles just south of Raynewood and set up my banner it summoned the furbolgs right away. They attack in groups of twos; Chief Murgut appears after about pair I soloed at level 37 tauren warrior.

One superior healing potion later I was done the quest. Did not use Retaliation Hope that helps! Comment by Allakhazam Okay, I quite enjoyed this quest. Really showed how over powered my lvl 27 Druid is I fought first 3 guys off Came out of Bear Form, Warstomp, healed. Comment by Allakhazam Tried this quest with 4 shaman, levels 25,30,31,32 and failed - there are at least waves of mobs that come at you in groups of Unfortunately, this event is scripted like many in the old Everquest where you need the 'holy trinity.

The mobs come so fast there was no time for any of us 4 shaman to do anything but kill, so DPS is key. Maybe 5 warriors, LOL. By the time you hit the low 30's where you can succeed at this quest, leather classes can go to Needles and get a better chest piece from the "Wanted - Arnak Grimtotem" quest there. Edited, Mon Jan 31 Comment by Allakhazam Level 30 Priest and Level 30 Warrior waltzed in to do this and found the quest problematic. Groups should crowd up on top of each other to avoid pulling extraneous non-quest-related furbolgs who almost-die then baf bring-a-friend.

At one point we had nearly 20 individual furbolgs on us, half of which were baf. No one died. But holy sh-t. Comment by Allakhazam Solo'd this as a 25 BE pally. Tough, but doable. Oh, and get the hell outta there before the respawns happen! Comment by Allakhazam Tried to do this solo with my lvl30 hunter. As soon as you plant the banner you're rushed by two lvl24 Enraged Foulwealds who each have the tank of a prot warrior. Each time you've killed one, another one appears and so on.

I'd managed to kill eight, but in the end my health ran out before I'd even seen the boss. Either get a healer to cover you, or a couple of extra damage dealers to split up the aggro. Comment by Allakhazam i soloed this as a lvl 27 warlock. The trick is to kill all the mobs around the mound them keep all the aggro on your pet. Comment by Allakhazam It's actually quite simple to find the mount. Just enter the path leading south from raynewood, and enter greenpaw village.

The first camp on your left is the one you need. Kill the mobs, jump on the big rock in the center of the camp and plant the banner by right-clicking : Happy slaying! Comment by Allakhazam You plant the banner on a mound with 2 totem poles on either side. The mound is down a path just south of the road to Raynewood Retreat. The mobs will stop following you soon and then hit the pillar. Run back health pot should still be on CD unfortunately. The level 26 mob should be up now and the other seemed to dissapear or i killed them remember keep rend up.

Kill it shouldnt be hard at all after bandaging. I killed it and left. Comment by Zeraph Soloed at lvl 27, hunter with dps cat lvl 27 Too good :D. Comment by alkaline Very easy as a 27 Shaman: equip a shield and 1h, drop Stoneskin and Healing Stream totem and tank the first two mobs until the guy you have to kill appears.

Kill all three, and that's it. Comment by flaym VERY easily soloed as a 28 rogue, could have done it sooner. How you ask? By Cheating! Plant totem, aggro both furbies, and then jump to the drum. You might need to reposition a couple times to make sure they can't hit you. Once they run back towards the totem, then you know you've got it right. At this point, don't panic, they will not destroy it. Instead they stand there and reaggro to you repeatedly. Twiddle your thumbs for a while The boss will spawn, and run to the totem, probably hitting you along the way.

Wait a couple more moments and all 3 of them will reset. The two spawns will despawn, and the boss runs off and politely stands to the side, waiting to be killed. Humor his death wish, collect the totem from the dropped basket, and go to claim your shiny new vest. Comment by found a really easy method for a priest. I even survived an assault of a wandering protector lvl35 elite while finishing off the boss. Comment by Slavac i was lucky enough to loot it from another group's basket.

Comment by experienced an odd bug with this quest. Comment by Laurathos Soloed as a lvl 26 warrior without any sort of problems.

It's very simple, you aggro both mobs and start running counter-clock wise around the hill where you plant the banner. The mobs will follow some a bit different routes and you therefore run faster than them, so slow down for a sec or two if you get too far ahead of them.

When the boss spawned I ran up and used Retaliation Here you could just use the die and kill on spawn trick. Very simple, did cost me a single hp pot but was very soloable. Comment by patch 2. I suposse that if u're a hunter or a warloc this could be easy. Good luck. Comment by Raelisa Solo'd as a lvl 24 Ret pally.

Very easy and nice xp. Get a couple more attacks on each and you'll need to bubble at that point. Use divine protection 8 second bubble , cast 2 holy lights and start your kite.

Stay out of melee and ahead of the two mobs kiting wide around the base of the mound. The movement speed boost will keep you well out of reach until the boss finally spawns after about 4 minutes. Make sure you are using Blessing of Wisdom and pop down a consecrate for them to run through and slowwwwwwly take down their health. When the chief finally spawns, slap each mob once to kill it, and take him on. Easy fight. Comment by Rontti I was able to solo this as a level 27 fury warrior.

I died on the first time, as I didn't have a clue of what to do. On the second try I equipped a shield and popped defensive stance. Comment by Saldor just soloed this on my 25 druid, a tactic is too keep killing them untill the boss appears and when he does run out of his agro range and deagro him, heal up and go kill him.

A nice and easy tactic for me. I was happily soloing the quest until the huge tree showed up and owned me :. When one add died I popped out of bear form and healed and then went back.

When the boss came however I used War Stomp, and healed. I could have just healed though I just wanted to be safe. Hope this helps. Comment by Fenald Easily solo'd as any char the mobs run slow while waiting for like the 2 minutes for him to respawn I kited both of them untouched multiple ways on a rogue with no speed boosts of any kind.

First I just ran in a big circle around the thing np they can't catch you but I got some respawns so I just got them both on 1 side of the log and piller kited them around the log. No reason any class shouldn't be able to solo this, I had full HP when the boss spawned. Comment by Saroz As a druid, switch to Cat Form and kite to two adds around at low HP, and wait for the boss to spawn - once he does, finish off the adds and then the boss.

Easy kill. Comment by There is a bug that if you place the totem while your dead in the middle, you will be stuck in a first-person view and wont be able to melee attack. Comment by pond Possibly one of the funniest quests I have done The secret to this quest is Furbolgs are basically fat, lazy, clumsy and stupid. Firstly, find some Benny Hill "chase" music. Stand on top of the mound, activate the quest and start the music.

Immediately start running around the perimeter of the mound, the two initial furbolgs will follow you like fat kids after a donut. Now Furbolgs being fat, stupid and clumsy, will trip over all the cages, buildings, logs, flags and other detritus these slobs leave laying around their camp.

Just keep circling the mound, at times you will even have to pause for a second or two to let the fat kids catch up. You can quite successfully run round and round the mound for the two minutes it takes for the "boss" fat kid Its about now you run to the top of the mound, and kill the boss and the two ads and stop the music.

Me being a rogue, I just popped evasion, killed the biggest fat kid and vanished, completed. Comment by spuik Soloed as 27 paladin. Easy really. Devotion Aura, Blessing of Wisdom and shield. I used pots and HoJ early to have the CD finished before the fight was over but I didn't really need them again. Comment by 25 Feral Druid - I completed this quest by staying in bear form and healing when needed, i had reached all the way up to Murgut and died When i went back to my body Murgut was still there.

So if this happens to you dont worry, he wont de spawn by the time u get there :. Comment by Shapeman With my lvl 29 enhancement shammy heres what i did.

The first time i tried and died a wave or two before the chief appeared. The second time i used the Dog Whistle from SM.

But just the hound was enough to help along with a mana stream totem and the occasional stoneclaw totem. Heres a link to my shammy in the armory: Gorbakastan Daggerspine. Comment by I soloed as a 26 lock. What I did: -Cleared immediate area. Don't have to clear people too far away from the mound. Void died, sac'd him and killed Murgot and the remaining add while shielded.

If it's on a timer, just fear until Murgot shows up. Bring plenty of pots if you have lowish health or mana. I never had any trouble with my mana though. Comment by I totally put the banner down exactly where I was standing and got stuck inside it : don't do that.

Comment by nusmesa If you really cant find another guy. Use this: rogue Ran around the mound with the 2 following me The boss didnt dissapear. He destroyed the flag. Stealth around him. Flag up again. Killed him then took the basket. Q complete. Comment by Well I'm not sure how this happened I didnt have to kill anybody and I could loot the totem. Comment by I soloed this as a level 26 hunter. It was pretty east 2 mobs run, multiple times, up kill one and trap other. When the boss comes you can run away and health up before attacking him he won't disappear.

I used 2 health pots and one bandage but other than that pretty easy. Just remember to kill surrounding mobs before you place the banner down. Comment by just soloed this as a lvl 26 pally, Kremonte, wasn't difficult at all, and i killed about 7 of the adds before i saw the boss.

Comment by DudMasta Soloed with lvl 25 Pally. Comment by Solo'd as a 25 Feral Druid, with both points in Feral swiftness, kiting the guys around the mound until the King spawned in Cat Form, then burned them down. Comment by Solo'd as a 26 warrior, no special twinky gear or anything. Just make sure the area is clear, then plant the banner. Two guys show up, bloodrage and hamstring the both of them, then run in a large circle around the camp re-hamstringing them as they catch up to you.

Keep your fear, wait until the king shows up. Fear the two schmucks you've been leading around, then burn down the king. Bandage if you have the time I didn't then finish off the two when they come back or evade them away. Comment by Keyzzz 26 enh shammy in greens, solo'd. Comment by Anyone with a range weapon can win this easy. Just wait till they attack the totem, range 1, then range the other.

Run up the hill to the road and they will run back just before you reach it to attack the totem again. Make sure your paying attention and are right on their heals so when they start attacking again you can repeat. Kill the boss, very easy by himself and take your loot. Comment by fairytale just made it with my lvl 26 Rogue. Crippling Poison on both weapons is essential.

Plant the banner and stealth to sap one of the two mobs that spawn. Then hit the other one and kite him 'til sap breaks. Kiting two mobs is just a bit harder, depending on your poison proc rate. Using sprint can help kiting or save you when your HP are low and one or both ob the mobs aren't poisoned. When trying this taktik, I missed my first sap target and aggro'd a pathfinder that forced me to use vanish - still had no problem doing it. Comment by soloed as a 26 level priest. Comment by Note: You must keep the flag from being destroyed.

Comment by Something strange happened when I tried to do this quest. I put the banner down and killed the first 3 adds, then died.

When I ran back, the chief was just standing there. I killed him and got the totem thing. Comment by my voidwalker died just as Murgut spawned, which meant him, and the two adds were after me.

So I ran away until I lost aggro, which made the two adds despawn, then I resummoned my voidwalker, mannad up and then killed Murgut no problems. Comment by Just soloed with a 27 Rogue in good gear. Cost me a HP, a bandage and a lifeblood. Killed the waves, then killed the boss - he is the easy part. Had crip poison on both blades. Comment by jonhassan Just soloed as a 27 prot warrior.

There aren't simply two foulwealds on you during this quest, sometimes there are upwards of three. Be careful using fear as this may also draw adds to you if you haven't cleared the area. Used a Healing Potion and a silk bandage bandaged by running away until they broke and evaded to the banner. Charged back in after that, took about two shield block pops and one intimidating shout.

After that, Murgut is a cakewalk. Comment by Easily soloable by most any class. Taking the two initial mobs to low health causes them to run very slowly. You can kite them for the few minutes before the king spawns and then just finish the two off and restore your health and mana before attacking the king.

The king is also kitable to the road, so if you happen to agro unwanted mobs you can kill him anywhere and he'll still drop the totem.

Comment by This is easy for Warrior. Okey you start off by Kill all the nearby Foulweads in the closest area to the totem Plant the flag on the hill Two Foulweads will come for you, make them go after and follow you, strike them Don't kill them, then start running around the totem ground in a circle passing the small fires, just outside of the totem Keep running without trying to hit anybody.

The Foulweads will follow you, if they hit you, just use war stomp, wait, and then keep running around in a circle, waiting the Chief out After about 3 minutes, the Chief will come, when he does, just start pounding away with everything you've got, retaliation on that chief, use a health potion at this time if you need to, Rend him and kill him, don't mind the two Foulweads beating you while you do it When you've killed the Chief, it doesn't matter if the two others kill you, the lantern with the quest item will still be there when you resurrect That is how you do this quest in an easy way, as a Warrior.

Comment by I soloed this as a lvl 26 balance druid, but I think there was a bug. I did as Takeout said, but when Murgut spawned I died - Without having killed any mobs.

Ofc I ran back to my corpse and then I saw Murgut standing on the hill, without the other two mobs! Quick mb and then a dead Murgut. Comment by Dont Delete the banner after you got the totem Comment by Easily done as a 27 rogue with a 25 mage. Polymorph one while we both attack the other then move on to the other and repeat till Murgut showed up. Killed him easily, he dropped a glowing basket. We both were able to loot the totem from the basket. Very quick. Trickier solo but still doable.

Confirmed coordinates - 56, Comment by CanadianSniper This can be easily solo'd if you just mess with the 2 mobs at the start. Don't kill them yet. Just engage them so they're after you, run away until you're out of combat, run back and stop them from destroying the flag, repeat. After 3 minutes or so, the chief comes and just stands around. So take care of the 2 mobs, eat and drink, then kill the chief.

Comment by This quest couldn't have been any easier to solo as a 24 sub specced rogue. When they get to the top of the hill sap one. So just alternate the sap between them until the boss appears. The two mobs dissapeared for me at this point, i down the boss in a few seconds and bam.

Comment by crowface28 solo'd as a 27 priest. Comment by Another option: assume it's an easy quest, don't read any of this first, use your Heirloom weapon s and shoulders, one-shot it, think "wtf that was hard", then come read this text.

I really advise the heirloom weapon part. Comment by pnukup A good tactic for this Quest is: 1. Get a friend to help you. Comment by extazor Note: Even if you die, there is a chance of the chief spawning First though you have to hold out for a couple minutes fighting the side spawns. Hope this happens to more people like it did to me. Comment by rivlel I just solo'd this as a 27 shaman without cheesing it using the "keep them alive till the spawn timer on the chief is up".

To be honest though, if I'd known about the exploit method creative use of game mechanics, I might have tried that ;- As a shaman, the way to do is: 1 keep watershield up 2 put down stoneclaw totem every time it's available 3 heal yourself only when you've killed one mob, and before the next one arrives. The pushback is to much otherwise and you'll be overwhelmed. Use lesser healing wave to maximize non-pushed-back time 4 have a health pot available, preferably a "greater".

I only had a regular, but I'm an herbalist, so I got a heal from that That's it - it wasn't very easy to do this as as 27, but it certainly was a ton of fun actually getting through it! Comment by I just do this quest whit my lvl 23 pally retri, i kill all the adons but in the end they kill me but the king stay so i walk and kill him easy ;. Comment by Soloed this easily as a 27 priest. I had two spawns on me the entire time the 1st and second spawn together, but the third then fourth spawns , I burned through lifeblood and pots before I realized I would have to bail, so I feared the two mobs and ran.

After I ran out of sight, the mobs despawned and the banner was on the hill alone, so I drank and then Murgut appeared all by himself, so I just killed him.

Comment by Kobzol soloed by fury warrior Used 1 healing pot. Comment by Caitria It sounds like I did the wrong thing Got close to dying a couple times Didn't realize I could have just let the 2 other mobs just pound on me for a while Comment by Rhaga just did this on my level 27 warrior on first try, only healing taken is from 2 bandages you may jump directly to 3 if prefered 1 Hamstring both mobs 2 Jump over one of the ledges, then run to both sides.

It'll be just like kids chasing each other around a table. If kiting fails which it nearly inevitably will , then hamstring both mobs again, and jump over the ledge on the opposite side, and eventually use a bandage will make it at full duration. They respawn instantly and come after you each time you kill them, just CC them and keep yourself alive until the chief shows up. After placing the banner I ran to the south side of the hill, and waited for the enraged furbolgs to appear.

I hit them each with a Scorpid Sting, let them run toward me, and dropped the Frost Trap. From there I just ran circles around the hill, dropping Frost Trap again as need, 'til the king appeared. I peeled off the two enraged mooks and killed them, then took down the king. Comment by Schnoodledorfer Although the quest text does not mention it, you must return the banner in addition to Murgut's Totem. If you destroy the banner in order to save bag space once you have the totem, you can't complete the quest.

Comment by pretty easy did it as a 25 retradin put on ur devitation aura get blessing of wisdom spam jugdement of wisdom and ur done didnt have use pots or anything just holy light. Comment by soloed today as an 25 shaman. Comment by For Shamans : I soloed this as Enhance at level 26 with moderate ease.

The trick is to be able to use Stoneclaw to grab the mob s you aren't fighting while you pick off your target. Also use Fire Nova totem for AoE goodness! I didn't even have a mana totem, and was not using a shield. You should be fine. Comment by i was actually able to solo this as a 26 mage tho Comment by Very, very easy as a shaman.

Keep healing when they are on that level of hp, don't touch them anymore till he comes. Kill the 2 adds and kill them. Simply as that.. Do not let the furbolgs destroy the banner. Take this banner a short ways northeast and place it on their totem mound.

They will try to destroy the banner, but hold your ground until their chief, Murgut, appears to save face for the tribe. Bring me the totem he carries. Issuing that challenge to the Foulwealds and defeating their leader sends them a strong message:. Wowpedia Explore. Main Page All Pages. World of Warcraft. Classic Vanilla
