Residents are responsible for cleaning their own rooms, including the bathrooms. Housekeeping will clean the bathrooms once a month. Students must provide their own bedding, linens and towels. The College network is included. Residents must have wireless Ethernet network cards installed in computers prior to arriving at Lambton College.
This network does not allow for high bandwidth downloads. Students may purchase a high speed internet hook-up from Cogeco at their own expense. There is a kitchen area available to the residents. No cooking appliances with an open flame or open burner are allowed in residence due to fire regulations. Residents must bring their own cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc. Barbeques and bike racks are available in the courtyard.
Residents purchase a mandatory declining balance meal plan which they can use at any of the on campus outlets, including the snack bar in residence. Students are supplied with a laundry card to use in the laundry room in residence. Students may add value to the card at the recharge machine with a credit or debit card. Outside the classroom and common areas, there are plenty of athletic activities, concerts and clubs for students to pursue their interests and develop new ones with their peers. Each room contains two single beds or two double beds, two desk chairs, two armoires with built-in shelves, and a shared washroom.
A mini-fridge and microwave are available in the room, with a common kitchen area shared by all residents. Cable, internet and local phone connections are included, and a laundry card is provided to students, which can be loaded by debit or credit card. Student services are provided by both the Student Administrative Council and the various service departments within the college.
